Family: The Domestic Church

Dr. Myers (Myers Institute, Passing the Baton, International) posted this link on his twitter the other day, and I found article three to be really interesting.

Renewed understanding among the laity of marriage and family. (Scroll down to the third article)

What do you guys think of calling the family, or even just a married couple, "the domestic church"?

Thoughts anyone?

Another friend, Emily H., posted this video on her facebook awhile back.

I thought it was pretty interesting - It reminded me that this is what family, the foundational unity of every society, was conducted for thousands of years. Only in the past century and an half have we deviated from this, and I find that somewhat saddening.

Thoughts on the video are welcome as well, and feel free to watch parts two through six as well. Oh, and I love that part two has the song "Personal Jesus," by Depeche Mode playing in the background (They sang it originally, Johnny Cash covered it, then Maralyn Manson covered it.), it's one of my favourite songs.

And to finish my triad of family related things in this post, I give you The Resurgence's "Great Books: Marriage & Family"

Enjoy!
