Hiatus and The Prisoner

Hey guys!

I've decided to take a hiatus, since I didn't want to write over break. It's only for a week- don't freak out.

This is my last post until the March 23.

I'll be back and in regular form then. I just wanted to make the most of my sabbath- I post a week or more in advance, so I'll be back writing while I'm on hiatus, and haven't been writing this week because I've been on vacation, in Hawaii!

Now for something completely different, to keep you busy: Many of you know that I'm a cult follower of the television show The Prisoner, from 1967. I actually own the entire season, and was more than enthusiastic about AMC's recent announcement that they'll be remaking the classic television show.

I recently forced on of my housemates and my girlfriend to watch the first episode with me. I don't think they appreciate the complexity and beauty of such a masterpiece-Their asininity is distasteful at times.

Anyway, I'm a student member of the Society of Biblical Literature, and in the most recent SBL newsletter I saw an article that more than caught my eye: ‘They’ve Given You a Number and Taken Away Your Name’: Gnostic Themes in The Prisoner, Television’s Ultimate Cult Classic. I thought you all might find it interesting, at least those of you who like the show. And for those who've never heard of it, it's some exposure.

While AMC is remaking it, their hosting all of the original episodes on their website: The Prisoner. That should give you plenty to do while I'm on hiatus.

Enjoy!
